Finally have LW 4.0 PC and it flies. My 486-66 rendered the texture example 2.86
times faster than my 68030-40. My friends Pentium-90 was then 3 times faster
than my 486. This program flat out moves, and the best thing is that the screen
doesn't flicker and I can use it at 1024 x 768 resolution. I already miss macros
though. I had no idea hoe much I rely on the center macro and the random surface
point macro for explosion effects. Good thing I haven't thrown away my Amiga.
The documentation for the modeller is great but layout is the same as 3.5. They
even have screamernet docs. There is no documentation for IK or network
rendering. It multitasks very well, even under Windows 3.1. I had a rendering
going on while I was printing color seperations from Corel Draw and it didn't
crash. That is really saying something when running windows. I am probably going
to migrate to NT. This program smokes.
